New eBART extension officially opens

East County dignitaries, local officials and members of the media got a first look and preview ride on the new eBART Pittsburg to Antioch rail system on Friday, May 25. To celebrate the completion of the project, BART officials held a community ribbon-cutting celebration at the new Antioch station, which featured train rides and local entertainment.

Showdown looms as counter-initiative for Antioch development proposed as show down looms

ANTIOCH - Dueling interest groups will ask for your signature on similar initiatives for the November ballot to preserve either all or a portion of the Sand Creek Focus Area. The Sand Creek Focus Area is an approximately 2,783-acre area sitting between the city of Brentwood on the east and the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve on the west.

Danville is the sort of well-ordered, upscale Bay Area enclave where density remains a dirty word, and large-scale development proposals typically go to die. The East Bay town of 44,000 has an average single-family home price well north of $1 million.
