The Ranch is a proposed master planned residential community in south Antioch’s Sand Creek Focus Area that thoughtfully balances future development with respect for the site’s natural features. Forty percent of the site's 550 acres, or 220 acres, will be preserved as open space or parks, 96 percent of the site’s trees will be preserved, and hillsides and Sand Creek are left largely undisturbed.
The project is proposed to include homes for first-time buyers, gated executive neighborhoods and potentially Antioch's first large-scale community for residents 55 years or older. A proposed mixed-use retail village center and fire-station site will serve residents and surrounding neighborhoods. The project's robust park system ties the site’s neighborhoods together, and will provide abundant opportunities for residents to socialize and recreate in a beautiful and safe environment. Anchored by a staging area, an extensive trail system connects to all of the site’s neighborhoods and surrounding open space areas.
With an awareness of Antioch’s past and an appreciation for the city’s future, The Ranch will be a desirable and sustainable community for future generations.

Richland Sponsors Career Program at Antioch High School![]() Richland Communities, along with Shea Homes, is assisting with the implementation of the Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) program at Antioch High School. Established by the California Homebuilding Foundation, BITA is multi-year high school pathway program that provides students with hands-on residential construction experience and training so they are equipped to pursue careers in the industry following graduation. Richland recently sponsored two “Lunch and Learn” programs for Antioch High School students, in which homebuilding professionals shared their backgrounds and experiences to broaden awareness of career opportunities in the construction field. While the students seemed to enjoy the presentations, pizza was clearly the big hit.
